If you are wanting to expand on your Prosthetics skills, learn more about prop making and enhance your SFX Makeup, this is the program for you!!

Learners who have already completed Diploma of Screen & Media will benefit from having prior makeup experience. Learns can be assessed for Recognition of Prior learning (RPL)

Experience hands on, real, practical skills by working with industry professionals and assisting with the design and development of Special Effects items to be used for Film Productions giving you “On Set” experience of how to manage the requirements.

A variety of prop making, and advanced moulding and casting techniques will be used to create full character designs using a combination of materials to make various prosthetics. You will also develop a Professional Portfolio of creative work that will enhance your career as an artist.

This program will be blended learning experience working both guided and independently in our SFX Lab to build your own creations, working “On Set” and also through online learning.

 

INTAKE 2023:  20th of January 2025 (3 days a week Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)

INTAKE 2023: Midyear dual Diploma intake available for July 24th 2023 (This dual Diploma includes CUA51020 Diploma of Screen & Media and CUA60620 Advanced Diploma of Screen & Media)

How to apply

To apply for this course first you must complete the Application Form on mediamakeup.com.au and submit the completed form to info@mediamakeup.com.au If you have left high school within the last 2 years, please provide a copy of the most recent school report. Please note that application must have all questions answered and have the relevant documents attached. Once your application has been received you will be contacted for an interview at the academy. Please download and read the Learners Handbook prior to the interview and bring it with you, as there are forms required to be completed. If you are under 18 years of age then a guardian will need to attend the interview.

Prior to the interview, you will be required to arrive 15 minutes early to complete a short questionnaire. This will help us to better understand your abilities to undertake the chosen qualification that you are applying for. At the interview the content and activities of the course and any Incidental Expenses or Fees and Charges will be explained, Policies and Procedures of the Academy will be discussed and the prospective learner’s ability to undertake the course will be assessed. If accepted into the course, and a deposit is required then payment will be due at this time and then a confirmation of enrolment will be received to confirm a placement in the course.

Participants over the age of 16 and who are, or have been, under the Guardianship of the Minister for Education.

PARTICIPANT COURSE FEE CONCESSION REIMBURSEMENT

Participant Course Fee concession if:

Participant holds a current:

–  Health Care Card;

– Pensioner Concession Card; or

– Veteran Affairs Concession Card; or

– if the Participant is a Prisoner.

Evidence will be required to be supplied and further information will be provided at interview.
